After “Avengers: Endgame,” many fans were saddened by the fact that several of their favorite characters die in the film. Though, when the new Black Widow movie was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con, many fans were hopeful that their favorite characters to return to the screen.

Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr. died in “Endgame” along with “Black Widow,” played by Scarlett Johannsom, but with this movie happening between “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War,” fans can hope for a return of some Marvel characters.

The cast so far consist of: Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O.T. Fagbenle, Ray Winstone, and Olivier Richters, which was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con.

Geoff Boucher, a former writer of Entertainment Weekly, who was interviewed on a documentary about Marvel called “Assembling a Universe,” said, “Some of the biggest characters from Marvel comics were already tied. So the idea of Marvel Studios coming along and launching this up start mission without the biggest guns, there was some skepticism.”

After “Avengers: Infinity War” came out, the next phase of the Marvel franchise started, and the “Black Widow” movie will be among the first few movies included in the new phase.

Andrew Park, 9, said, “I’m not really sure what is going to happen in the movie since Black Widow died in ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ but I’m sure it will be interesting. All the characters in the movie would be very interesting because they’ll add something to [Black Widow’s] backstory.”

The upcoming movie will be the twenty-fourth Marvel movie.

Scarlett Johansson told Elle’s Women at a Hollywood event in October that the production wrapped for the movie and that she couldn’t wait for it to be in theaters.

‘“I can’t wait to share it with everybody,” Johansson said. ‘“It was fantastic. I mean, I’m partial, but I’m pretty excited about. Honestly, it brought closure to me that I needed [because] I was kind of wiped out in that last [movie], emotionally and literally.”’
