Basketball First Varsity Game

On Nov. 14 Varsity had their first tip off game against Duluth. The final score was 57-50 Mill Creek for the win. The senior trio Stacky Jackson, John Mcintyre and Jay Finch will be a beauty to see when they are all on the  court.

Jackson is currently out for six weeks with a Achilles injury, although he was on the team last year he was unable to suit up for varsity games due to transfer rules. We will  have to wait to see them all play on the same court together for their last season. That did not stop the two from seeing a game between Finch and Mcintyre combining for more than 20 points.

Desir Jacques, 11, stated It was very close game, point after point especially during the fourth quarter. He said, “I was very excited to play because this game was the statement to our fans and other teams to see us show out,” he continued, “Even we were down we had great commutation to come back and win.”

In the game they missed a lot of open layups but there mid-range shots that helped a lot. Desir stated, “Our defense was pretty good.” The Mill Creek Varsity Boys team has a bunch of different positions and everybody works their position well, “Lathan William Jr,  is the rebounder, Nick lolli Jr, is the guard and good at 3’s said Desir.”
