Billie Eilishs’ new single, is about people in relationships abusing their power they have over the other. The song is supposed to be an encouragement for this type of behavior to stop and for people to help each other then they see someone in this type of situation. A part of the media has always been about Eilish’s looks and life outside of the music industry, “Your Power,” is a call back to few times in her history where the media was all about her life and relationships, and not just her. Eilish wants the song to reach those suffering from situations like this. The song brings light to topics of abuse from people who abuse their power in harmful and wrong ways, hints to the title of the song.

Eilish states in an interview with British Vogue that, “I would like people to listen to me. And not just try to figure out who I’m talking about, because it’s not about that. It’s really not at all about one person,” she continued by saying,”You might think, ‘It’s because she’s in the music industry’—no, dude. It’s everywhere. I don’t know one girl or woman who hasn’t had a weird experience, or a really bad experience. And men, too—young boys are taken advantage of constantly.”
