  • Fourth-period dance performing, “Ladies’ Choice”.

Thurs. April 21 through Sat. April 23, the Mill Creek Dance Department put on their annual Spring Dance Concert. The theme of the show was, “A Night to Remember on Broadway,” and centered around iconic musical numbers from iconic movies and musicals.

Starting act one, the MCHS Dance Department danced to, “I Hope I Get It,” from the broadway show “A Chorus Line,” choreographed by Suzzane Muck. Following up, second-period dance performed to, “It’s Raining Men”, from the broadway show, “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,” choreographed by guest choreographer, Alexis McPhail. Next sixth-period, who performed, “Footloose,” from the broadway show, “Footloose,” and was choreographed by Muck.

Fourth period was next and they performed, “Forget About the Boy,” from the show, “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” choreographed by student choreographer, Jessica Casheba, 11. Next, seventh-period performed, “Under the Sea,”from the movie, “The Little Mermaid,” and was choreographed by dance composition student, Evelynn Douches, 12. Following that performance was first period performing, “Greased Lightning,” from the musical, “Grease,” and choreographed by guest choreographer, Waylon Jones.

Fourth-period dance performed, “One Night Only,” from the Broadway show, “Dreamgirls,” and was choreographed by Millie Barron, 12. Next, second-period dance performed to, “Uptown Girl,” from, “Movin’ Out,” choreographed by Muck. Then, Emma Enochs, 12, and Chloe Park, 12, choreographed and performed to, “Haunted,” by Beyonce’.

Seventh-period followed and performed, “Teen Beach,” from the musical, “Teen Beach Movie,” and was choreographed by student choreographer, Kylie Hildreth, 12. The duo, Douches and Sophia Wright, 12, performed and choreographed, “What is This Feeling?” from the Broadway show, “Wicked”. Tyler Knowles, 12, performed and choreographed a solo to the song, “Let it All out,” by Coin.

Dancers Megan Baggs, 10; Cate Carmichael, 9; Reece Helms, 11; Xaria Holt, 10; Katie Howell, 11; Lexie Teaney, 9; Mackenzie Vasquez, 11; and Leah Welmaker, 10; performed a tap dance choreographed by Howell, to the song, “Anything Goes,” from the Broadway show, “Anything Goes”.

Next, first-period dance performed, “Be Our Guest,” from the movie, “Beauty and the Beast,” and was choreographed by Wright. Finishing act one, fourth-period dance performed, “One,” from the Broadway show, “A Chorus Line,” choreographed by Muck.

Starting act two, all senior dancers performed, “Last Dance Seniors 2022,” and was choreographed by the senior class. Next was sixth-period and they performed, “Omigod,” from the Broadway show, “Legally Blonde,” and was choreographed by Elle Willis, 12. Fourth period performed, “Ladies’ Choice”, from the Broadway show, “Hairspray,” and was choreographed by dance composition students Douches and Wright.

First-period performed, “Money,” from the Broadway show, “Cabaret,” and was choreographed by Wright. Next was Enochs, who performed, “Already Gone,” and was choreographed by guest choreographer, Krista Baker. Then Douches, Kendall Johnson, 12, and Allison Hall, 10, performed and choreographed to the song, “Quiet Uptown,” from the Broadway show, “Hamilton”.

Then, seventh-period performed, “Falling Slowly,” from the Broadway show, “Once,” and was choreographed by Douches. Second period performed to, “Steam Heat,” from the Broadway show, “Fosse,” and was choreographed by Muck. Fourth period dance performed, “Night to Remember,” from the Disney Channel musical, “High School Musical,” and was choreographed by Douches and Wright.

Next, sixth-period performed, “Can’t Stop the Beat,” from, “Hairspray,” choreographed by Muck. Following that performance, Ava Williams, 12, and Knowles, performed, “Time of My Life,” from the movie, “Dirty Dancing,” and was choreographed by guest choreographer, Jones. Seventh period then performed, “Jet Set,” from the Broadway show, “Catch Me If You Can,” and was choreographed by Douches.

First period dance then performed, “Hercules,” from the movie, “Hercules,” and was choreographed by Wright. Finishing act two, fourth period dance performed, “Ease on Down the Road,” from the movie, “The Wizard of Oz,” and was choreographed by Knowles.
