Coach Josh Skelley, coached the freshmen team to a 4-1-2 record this season.

On Thursday, October 14, the 9th-grade football Hawks got a win against crosstown rival Dacula, with the final score being 35-0, and after the win, I had interviewed the head coach of the team, Josh Skelley.

This is what he had to say about the win, “It’s always good to end on a win. I mean you don’t want to spend a whole year thinking about your last loss of the season, so whenever you can end on a win. That’s the way it is, especially when it’s against one of your rivals in Dacula… A win is always fun.”

Then Coach Skelley said this on how much he will miss the boys he coached this season, “Well, I won’t miss them because hopefully I’ll see them in the fieldhouse and at practices next year when they’re playing on JV and varsity. That’s probably one of the best parts about being a ninth grade coach is they’re going to move on, but I’ll get to stay in touch with them… So actually we the ninth grade coaches get more contact with these boys than anybody because JV and varsity take over in 10th grade, well we get to see them all four years and we are the first coaches they meet here at Mill Creek and hopefully they had a good experience and it’ll continue to be a good time.”
