This year, Paramount Pictures came out with a movie called Bob Marley: One Love. The movie was about Bob Marley overcoming adversity to become the most famous reggae musician in the world. The film is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and the producer Marley’s widow, Rita Marley, Ziggy, and Cedalla Marley. There was a documentary about him in 2012 called “Marley” and that was also about his life and growing up in Jamaica and him getting shot. In the movie, they showed him being shot the reason he was shot was because of a group of people opposed what he stood for and didn’t want him to continue to protest peace all over Jamaica.
Mike Flemming Jr., stated the reason they made the Marley movie and documentary was because “We wanted to show a side of Bob that is not seen in interviews, or anything people already know,” Ziggy Marley said. “We wanted to show the internal struggles and the emotional side of Bob much more than anything has ever shown us before (Mike Fleming Jr.).” He’s been through a lot but he wanted peace, hope, and justice for everyone in the world.
