Glenn Burrows, an Engineering and Technology teacher who has been with Mill Creek for over 20 years, said, “This is my 20th year at MCHS. I am one of the original teachers who opened the school.”

In High School, Burrows participated in Football, Wrestling, and Track. He explained that his love and inspiration for teaching came from one of his high school teachers, he stated, “My 11th-grade language arts teacher was a huge role model for me. I didn’t realize the impact that he had on my life until I was older. I decided to teach, so I could give back to the next generation of kids.”

Before he got into teaching, he wanted to own his own restaurant, he stated, “My original plan was to own a restaurant. My undergraduate degree is in Hospitality Administration including hotel, restaurant, and resort management.” He worked for Longhorn Steakhouse and was a manager there before he came here. He then went to college at Florida State University and transferred to the University of Georgia to finish his degree in teaching.

Although Burrows spends a lot of his time in school, and at school activities, he continues to spend valuable time with his family and children, he stated, “I’ve been blessed to have great students over the years. I draw energy from the goofiness that is so common in high school kids and love hearing back from past students. Teaching allowed my wife, who’s also a teacher, and I to spend lots of quality time with our kids as they grew up. We traveled each summer, and I was able to be home for the important milestones in their lives.”
