Sarah Woody, 12, has been overly involved at Mill Creek these past four years. In addition to being on the softball team she is also involved in National Honors Society (NHS), Beta Club, and Mu Alpha Theta. Woody, 12, has been involved in softball since third grade. These past ten years of softball have impacted Woody, 12, in many ways, “I’ve always had a passion for this sport since I started. This team has helped my love for softball grow even more. I’m honored to have worn hawks across my chest. I’m looking forward to continuing in college.”

Senior year has had an impact on Woody, 12, with graduating this spring to play for Southern Wesleyan University next fall has made this year a year to remember, Woody, 12, states, “Bittersweet. I’m sad knowing this was the last time I could play for the Mill Creek softball team, but I’m excited for the next chapter in my career.”

Asking Woody about the opportunities she’s gained from her time at Mill Creek and on the team she says, “The opportunities I’ve gained are endless, but the main thing I’m taking away from this journey is stepping out of my comfort zone. I tried things I’ve never done before and experienced things I never expected. Through it all I learned to let downfalls motivate me and better myself.”

Being on a team has its challenges and learning points, “This team has taught me how to handle challenges thrown my way. I’ve made friends in the process and learned lessons. I’ve truly become a better person throughout these past four years. Thank you Mill Creek softball.” Looking in the past to now looking into the future, thanks to her love for the sport, Woody plans to continue softball in college.
