Mill Creek is accepting nominations for the Mill Creek School Council which began March 11, 2024. The school is looking for a couple of parent volunteers that run a business. The School Council meets five times a year at 6:30 am in the front office. The selected team gets a two year term after the election is completed. Members of the Student Advisory Council will also discuss other education-related issues, serve as the Superintendent’s ambassadors to their respective schools, and participate in service projects to benefit schools and students. On March 18, 2024 the office will select the most voted for school Council.
The establishment of school councils is intended to help local boards of education by bringing parents and the community together with teachers and school administrators to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other’s concerns and share ideas for school improvement. The new school council provide advice, recommendations, and assistance to principals and local boards of education. The law details the composition of the council, its responsibilities and procedures for conducting business. Recently on Mar 18, the administrators have finally picked a group of members to lead our school.
