Jadyn Peckham, 10, is a student at Mill Creek. This year Peckham traveled to Illinois, she stated, “Over break I traveled to my grandparents house in Illinois, and stayed there till Friday.” Peckham explained that her and her family travel to Illinois regularly because they are originally from there.
While she was there she visited her loved ones, she explained, “I saw most of my cousins and grandparents along with my great-grandparents, and other extended family. We all talked and played many card games together, and we also enjoyed playing with our little cousins.”
Her family had many different types of food at their gathering on Thursday, she stated, “We had deep fried turkey, many different types of charcuterie boards, macaroni and cheese, greens, ham, potatoes, rolls, stuffing, eggs, and a lot of desserts.” Peckham stated that she loved all the different foods, but had her favorites, “Potatoes and macaroni and cheese are always my top picks, but all the food was very delicious and I’m thankful I got to spend it with my friends and family.”
Peckham described her break as being fun and exciting, she stated, “My favorite part about break was getting to drive around with my older cousins, that was super fun, as well as making thanksgiving desserts with her family.” Peckham talked about her family tradition where everyone makes a different kind of Pie dish and she explained how doing that year round has been her favorite thing over the years.
