Varsity Baseball Moves on to the Elite 8

On Tuesday May 3, the Varsity Hawks baseball team won their Sweet 16 double header against the East Coweta Indians. The first game with a score of 3-2, and the second with a score of 9-2.

The first game started with the Hawks scoring one run in the second inning and two in the fifth, making the score 3-0. The Indians then scored two runs in the fifth, making the score 3-2. However, the Hawks held off the Indians for the rest of the game winning the first game 3-2.

In the second game the Hawks got off to a quick start scoring a total of seven runs in the first four innings. The Hawks had a 7-0 lead on the Indians going into the fifth inning, they then scored two runs in the sixth inning, making the lead 9-0 going into the seventh and final inning. By then it was too late for the Indians to come back, although the Indians made an attempt by scoring two runs in the final inning. This move was to no avail as the Hawks ended up winning 9-2 taking the series. They will now play against the Lowndes Vikings on May 9 (10 if needed).
