Marching band has been practicing all summer for the new football season.

They performed at the first varsity game last Friday, Sep. 18.

“Overall we were really excited and happy to play songs in the end zone,” Shechinah Mcfarland,9, said.

Along with this being the first varsity football game, it was also the band’s first performance in front of the students of mill creek.

“Considering the unusual circumstances and the restrictions we’ve had, the band performed its absolute best on Friday night. We have been looking forward to playing under the Friday night lights, that’s why we joined the marching band. We were all super excited for the game,” Brayden Williams,10, said

The band practices every Tuesday and Thursday, and sometimes Mondays and Saturdays to prepare for the games.

Practices are very different from last year’s practices due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“Practice is good. We always have our masks on unless we’re playing, it’s still fun though,” Ezequielp Perez, 9, said.

The marching band will perform again on Oct. 2.
