2020 Congressional Art Competition winner, Isabella Floyd

The Congressional Art Competition is a contest that happens every year in the spring. The competition is a nationwide competition in which students submit their art pieces to their state representatives office to be judged by a panel of artists from the district.

Mill Creek is proud to announce one of this year’s winners is Isabelle Floyd, 11, and her piece titled “Inspiration.”

This piece of art will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol building for the entire year, until next year’s competition.

Congressman Judy Hice personally congratulated the winners, “Congratulations to Isabella and Marnie [the other winner from Georgia] and all the students who put their artistic abilities on display for the public to enjoy. Without fail, I’m amazed each year by the mix of creativity, intricate details, and vibrant colors that our students include in their talented submissions. Although we were unable [to] gather in person, I am more than pleased with the quality of entries we received and am glad we were able to host this year’s annual competition on an online platform.”
