On Sunday, Sept. 20-23, 2018, the PGA Golf Tour Championship was held in Atlanta. Famous golfers like Billy Horschel, Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy, and Tiger Woods. Although all the golfers competed, Tiger Woods eventually came out on top with a final-round 71 and two-stroke win over Horschel. This was Woods’ first victory since 2013.

Although Woods did win, Justin Rose, who is the No.1 golfer in the world right now,  received the 2018 FedEx Cup crown and the $10 million that is also part of the prize. Woods would have won both trophies in Atlanta, but Rose was already tied with him when the 18th hole came around for fourth at six under.

Woods kicked off the championship from the beginning at the par-4 where he swung his 160-yard approach shot to 10 feet, and came in with a birdie for a four-stroke lead over Rose and McIlroy.

One of the most shocking moments to viewers was at the par-4 13th when Woods hit his second birdie of the day and rose up five over Horschel, who won this same, exact championship and the FedEx Cup four years ago.

This win was the first one since WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in 2013.  After the event, Woods said, “I’m lucky to have the opportunity to have the people around me to have supported me and worked through this process with me, and I’ve ground out a chance to win golf tournaments again.”
